A Bit About Me

After breaking my back in a serious car accident at 18 I found myself in need of a very specific shoe that could support my back. With none to fit the need exactly that I needed I took apart a few of my shoes, mashed them together with some industrial glue, and the perfect shoe to support my foot and back for me was made. After this process I absolutely fell in love with design and making assistive products. Now I'm able to go on hikes and play my favorite sport, soccer with maximum ability of my body all thanks to good assistive product design. I wish to give the same amount of relief and happiness to someone else one day.

Design Experience

2017-2021

PENSOLE:
Footwear design

Alex Of Arabia:
Fashion Design and manufacturing

In this studio, I was head sewer for all garments including; jeans, jackets, shirts, dress pants, suits, dresses, and just about anything that you wear on your body that is sewn. I was also Assistant Project manager taking in new clients and seeing if we would be able to handle their project.

I was constantly drawing and making shoes while working at the sewing studio. This helped me get into PENSOLE, where I spend four vigorous months designing a physical pair of shoes all the way from the sketches to the tech pack to the shoe right in front of me. This taught me so much teamwork and communication  working with a group to get our shoe finished.

2019

ArtCenter College of Design:
Industrial design - associates

2021- current

After PENSOLE I knew I needed more from design, I wasn't yet ready for the industry. My mentor Dwayne Edwards told me about ArtCenter, which led me to getting accepted and further advancing all of my knowledge of design.
